DG/SUM'07 was an international workshop on distributed and mobile spatial computing held in conjunction with COSIT'07, the Eighth International Conference on Spatial Information Theory. The workshop was held on 19 September 2007 at Mount Eliza, Melbourne, Australia. DG/SUM'07 was a joint workshop (Distributed Geoinformatics '07, chaired by Matt Duckham, Arie Croitoru, and Peggy Agouris, and Sensing, Ubiquity, and Mobility '07, chaired by Lars Kulik and Egemen Tanin) with Patrick Laube as the local organizer. The objective of the joint workshop structure was help encourage interdisciplinary collaboration, bridging the gap between applications and theory in the field of distributed and mobile spatial computing. DG/SUM'07 was supported by ISSNIP, the ARC research network on Intelligent Sensors, Sensor Networks, and Information Processing. DG/SUM'07 was also an activity of the ISPRS (International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing) working group IV/2 on image-based geospatial information management.
